Lydia Eva Court is a residential care home situated in Gorleston which provides specialist care for those living with dementia. The home was designed by NPS Group for Norse Care Ltd and provides an environment that strives to improve resident’s well-being.
The scheme is made up of 88 apartments which are split up into six different wings. We worked with NPS to come up with names and themes for each of these wings and came up with illustrations that we painted onto brightly coloured walls. Each wing is named after something that relates to the homes’ Norfolk surroundings and the strong colours and elegant line drawings help create a serene and peaceful environment for the residents.
We were also commissioned to design and fit signage around the scheme that was dementia compliant. This involved incorporating symbols that are easily recognisable to help as a visual aid for residents.
