SPACES (Society for Public Architecture, Construction, Engineering and Surveying) is a not for profit collaborative organisation, for those in the building professions who work in and for the public sector. It is committed to assisting its members in achieving the highest possible standards in the commissioning, designing, constructing, managing and maintaining of the public sector estate.

SPACES’ brief was to design a website that has a fresh, uncluttered and contemporary feel, is friendly in it’s navigation, has the ability to be updated regularly in-house and uses animations of changing imagery to emphasise the exciting and dynamic ethos of SPACES.

We used a full screen slider on the home page to create impact when the user first accesses the site. We kept the pages on the site minimalist and clean so that information can be displayed without distraction. We also integrated the site into WordPress so that the in-house team at SPACES can update information, add new content, post on the blog and update slider images. The site is a fully responsive design, which means it adapts to the viewing device e.g desktop, tablet or mobile phone.

There are a few special features to this site, including a personal log in for SPACES members which gives them access to the information suite and a members only forum. There is also an events calendar which is accessible to all but, when logged in, members have access to exclusive events and discounted ticket prices. Tickets can be purchased through the site and SPACES memberships can be applied for.
